About our art collection
Our art collection is unique being the only collection dedicated to inspiring better health and wellbeing.
Our collection was the very first art collection with the specific purpose of improving patient’s health. Since 1959, our collection has grown to hold over 3,000 artworks, including drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs, textiles and digital works. Our art collection is best known through our art loan programmes.
Over 2,000 world-class artists are represented in our collection, including Bridget Riley, Antony Gormley, Maggi Hambling, Yinka Shonibare, Helen Chadwick, Anish Kapoor, Elizabeth Blackadder, Josef Albers, Anni Albers, Gillian Ayres, Ben Rivers, Catherine Yass, Alexander Calder, Elisabeth Frink, Ian Davenport and many more.

We know that when carefully chosen and displayed, our art has the power to transform clinical environments into compassionate care spaces that encourage, enrich and empower people.
All types of healthcare and social care organisations can borrow from our art collection, and everyone is welcome to participate in our talks, tours and workshops inspired by it.
