Previous volunteer roles
Affordable Art Fair
Paintings in Hospitals was the chosen charity partner for the Affordable Art Fairs’ 25th Anniversary, held in Battersea Park. The Affordable Art Fair aims to make contemporary art affordable and accessible to all. For this event, volunteers assisted in our showcase of artworks and oversaw a hands-on workshop with the renowned contemporary artist Sue Arrowsmith. Volunteers gained experience with artwork installation and promoted our charity by providing a friendly face for the fair’s attendees.
Shaftesbury Avenue Showcase
Our showcase was an evening to celebrate the work Paintings in Hospitals currently does, has previously done, and to promote what can be achieved. Our lovely volunteers helped ensure the smooth running of the event, whilst making sure guests received warm and welcoming smiles (and a glass of bubbly!). The showcase was a great opportunity for our volunteers to be a part of and gain insight into the work and runnings of a charity event.

About our collection
Our art collection is the only national arts in health collection. Over 1,000 artists are represented, including Bridget Riley, Antony Gormley, Maggi Hambling, Yinka Shonibare, Gillian Ayres, Ian Davenport and many more and many more.
Paintings in Hospitals makes it easy for health and community care services to benefit from our art.
